Keystone XR308 Camera Found with 110 Film Still Inside!

Posted February 13th, 2025

A couple of weeks ago, I was driving around Yamhill County when I stopped at T & E's General Store to get some caffeinated beverages. I didn't notice at first, but there is an attached antique store that was having a half-off furniture sale! While I did not need furniture, they had tons of other stuff for sale too, interspersed throughout both the antique storefront and the general store.

After spending over an hour searching around, the only thing I purchased was a Keystone XR308 camera. Typically I would not purchase a camera like this, as it is very cheap and utilizes an obscure film format (110 film). I have a small collection of various cameras, including novelty ones with bizarre formats, but having yet another one would be too much. What interested me the most, though, was that there was film inside the camera!

I took the camera home, pried it open (breaking it, unfortunately) and got the film out. Sent it to The Darkroom to get developed, and a couple weeks later got the results! Only three shots (kinda) came out, nothing exciting, but the thrill of the find and waiting for the results was the best part of this activity. Certainly not cheap, but I've had luck on random rolls before!

Image #1 of what appears to be a little girl.

Image #2 of what appears to be a person, possibly eating.

Image #3, an outline of a human arm in front of a post?

$5...what a deal for such a mystery!

Always check the film window- I always check for mystery used film so I can develop it!

Batteries were so heavily corroded that I tossed out the camera after rescuing the film.

Sorry for the bad photo, as I was being careful about taking the cartridge out without it being spent (I'm so used to standard 35mm where if it's not spent, you need to be in pitch darkness to avoid exposure). But I've never used or even held a 110 film cartridge!
